I realise that a new car also has new paint, and that it can take as long as a year for your paint to become properly weather hardened.

What i'd like to know is whats the best (away from home) product i can carry with me to clean off bird crap (probably the most corrosive substance your poor car can encounter).

My sister said one of her mates carries baby wipes, if they are sensitive enough for a babies arse then they should be fine on a new cars paint.

Any other suggestions? Or anyone agree with the above statement?

I plan on keeping my Stilo for a long time.... [8)]

I'd have thought the best way to protect your paint was to regularly wax, building up a protective layer.

Oh and try not to spill diesel(or in your case petrol) down it like I did the other day!

No need to polish a brand new car, however bid poo will burn right through car polish and start attacking the paint in no time at all. The days still being so short means i can't exactly hose my car down every night and wash it.

I was hoping something like baby wipes, or a specifically designed car product (never spotted anything in hellfrauds) would mean that although my car will get dirty during the week (and washed at weekend) i could keep it free of bird poo in the days inbetween! [^]
