Hi people!

I got a Belkin ADSL wireless router for my mum.

I am having a problem accessing the Configuation page, to set up ISP etc.

I have checked all the settings etc they are correct, the page just won't load!

Never had a problem like this before. (n)

Any ideas???

Thanks,

J

I have tried the hard reset and it doesn't work.

My ISP is dynamic so I have set it to auto assign in the properties.

I have tried wiring it and wireless but it still isn't finding the IP that I have to go to.

The IP for the page is:

192.168.2.1

or

http://192.168.2.1:80

Tried both and it still doesn't work!

I can't take it back, I bought it off eBay. :(

I have never had this problem with other Belkin's and I bought this one cos I have used it before.

Did you run the "new connection wizard"?

on internet explorer, go to tools > internet options, then click the connections tab, then click setup on the top of that window.

on the wizard..

Next

Connect to the internet

Next

Set up my connection manually

Next

Connect using a broadband connection that is alwasy on

Next

Finish

Also on the connections tab (on internet options) make sure that you have "never dial a connection" selected.

Hope that helps

set everything on ur pc to DHCP, bang a cat 5 ethernet cable in ur pc and into a port on your router, turn everything on and hope for lights.

clear any proxy settings in IE.

try and hit your router now, if not see if you can ping it?

that failing try a hard reset (button on the back if its similar to other belkin routers).

assuming that you have the PC set to DHCP for your ethernet card and a straight through ethernet cable, not a cross over, (unless it is auto sensing) do this.

Start, Run.

type cmd

press ok

type ipconfig

Following results will tell you what is happening.

If you get three results, for example

IP address - 192.168.10.1
subnet mask - 255.255.255.0
default gateway 192.168.1.1

then away you go, enter the ip address for default gateway into your browser.

If you get something saying that the media is disconnected, then it is either not connected or broken.

I've done that as well, I have done everything I possibly can to check for problems but it still isn't working.

i thought the thread title was just a statement. I read "Belkin Wireless Problem" and thought, yes.

does it have any way of connecting via usb as a last ditch attempt. sounds like previous owner has fluffed a firmware upgrade and then sold it on.

I got it sorted, The reset button was stuck, that's why it wasn't working.

All up and running now, I'm on my lappy wirelessly as I type.

Thanks for the help though. :D
