well, i tried playing, but theres something up
started on the singleplay map, on the very first one i get control lag
i move left, then 2 seconds later it does it. this isnt very helpful when your shooting ppl
any idea what it could be :chin:

Yeah i get that when my graphic/video settings are too high. Try lowering everything to the most basic and build it up from the gradually.

ive got it on pretty much basic atm
only got the rez at my 1280x786 and the view distance set to max

try lowering to 800x600 and view distance to about 50%, and go from there. If no this then it could be your cpu is too sluggish for the game engine?

I will get my machine sorted and reinstall 2142 - deffo a dust issue, I reckon :chin: - been playing me up for past few weeks, so will rip out all the innards and rebuild it.

Like I said I probably got the weakest machine out of all of you and with everything set to low (Default) it runs fine. Have not tried anything higher as at the moment I prefer the performance not the looks.
BF2142 uses MAD amounts of memory once loaded, when it does fail to load and you check Task manager to end it the memory usage numbers are around 550mb
So EA's best advice which they always recommend first is to disable all background tasks before a match.
Sometime and I think its purely down to dodgy game code everything goes really slow and this is on the menu not even in the game. Happened to me 2 times so far in game but it went straight back to normal as soon as someone put me out my misery... literally.
but try everything on the default low and see how it goes.

Well, PC cleaned out - what a mess, been having severe issues with it recently, and I now know why

Well, managed to get a game, at last.
Decided to turn res down to 1280*960 or something, seemed quite smooth. Game is memory intensive, I had task manager up and it was eating like 720Mb of mem

w00t - now done an XP reformat, and realised there were a few issues with my HDDs.
So BF2142 now fully installed - played a LAN game last night, 1 v 1 - but cranked it up to full res, 1600*1200, and it played real smooth - and this is without overclocking my CPU or GFX card....

I still play with EVERYTHING LOW.... but I'm still p0w1ng all the servers
I'm like a Brazilian BF2142 player, too poor for up to standard equipment but make do with what I got and am damn good at it. I owned 3 servers drunk tonight, then my computer exited me to desktop Someone even initialised a KICK vota against me I was doing so well
