Just wondering whether people have got any advice on any cheap mods that make quite a difference to the car....
I've got a 5dr mk2, and want it to look good without spending the earth! cheers

Lower it 50mm.
Keep it clean.
Buy some nice wheels e.g. sporting/HGT wheels.

Don't waste your money on cheap tat like most people do, they always end up regretting it.

Do it right. Do it once.

U know ehn u say buy some sporting/HGT wheels, how much they cost and wen u declare them on insurance does it make it go up?
Im only 17 n i had a few friends who say insurance rockets wen u declare alloys n if u dont they void ur insurance?

Easiest thing to do is ring your insurer first to see how much extra they will cost. Sporting/HGT wheels might end up cheaper as you can say they were an optional extra.

roughly how much is it to lower the car? i also have a mk2 punto and might do the same to it

Guessing under £100 for -35mm, 100-£120 odd for -50mm (best way to go) then fitting on top of it. Look on some websites if you want accurate prices for kits.

As said ring insurance first.

Wheels £200 for a good set.

Suspension £150 for eibach springs, £50-100 to fit them.

Suspension will hike up insurance more than wheels.
