ok,

I looked under my new stilos seats..

Under them are a bunch of multi colored wires stuck to a plastic plate and clipped loosely to the seat bottom.

Is everyone elses the same? ive a 1242 16valve 3 door stilo active.

How did anyone else deal with these, im afraid to let passengers push the seat forwards or backwards in case they damage them, how can you protect them best????

Bog Standard Fiat Stilo 1.2 16 valve Active, in Sexual Rouge, el plastique rimolla's!! ;)

I've a 1.2 3-door too, i've noticed the cables too, they are loosely fitted i assume so as to move when the seat is pushed forward.

2003 3 Door Stilo 1.2 Active, Sassy Grey, 5 disc CD Changer, Abarth boot badge, plastic wheel trims - and 42.4mpg average so far. Love it, Oh yes!

The wires you found under the seats are the airbag sensors. as far as i'm aware there are also sensors there which calculate the weight of people in the seats and this aids in the safety and delivery of the air bags on impact. The wiring has enough slack in them for full movement of the seats backwards and forwards, though i have experienced connections coming loose setting off the warning sensors sometimes. Hope this info is of use.

You are correct Stiloboy, there is another thread explaining this exact same topic somewhere in the forum! ;)

Its almost impossible to fit sensor wires which won't get in the way at some point! My Saxo VTS had the air bag sensor wiring running under the drivers carpet, guaranteed to get an air bag warning now and then when you stamped on the connector.
