i have a fiat uno 1.0 ie start, its a 3 door car.
I have a leak coming from what i thought was the 2 back windows,;) but i have sealed them up and water is still coming through, any ideas where it may be coming from would be appreciated.

Hi,

I had the same problem too with my uno (also a 1.0 ie start 3 door) only now i've gotten rid of the windows and put in the opening ones from the turbo. They look much better :D

Now i've found that the windows whistle [:(!] i can't seem to get them to pull tight enough.

Check the ceiling lining - any tide marks on it/damp. If yes, then underneath the black strips on the roof you've got a rust hole.
Mine kept on getting water on the rear seat until I plugged the hole.

i have ceiled all round the inside of the window and some on the outside but water still keeps on seeping in, i went in it last night and it was all ceiled up but where it had been done the water was still coming in and i found that the carpet was soaking. pleasse help if anyone knows what the cause could be!! Hi, when I mean ceiling I mean the inside of the roof - the fabric/fibre board lining - check for tide marks, water stains on this. If this is wet then take up the black strips on the top of the roof and you'll probably find rust holes underneath this.

The drivers seat belt on Freddy was absolutely soaked after that huge downpour last week. I think the rear opening window seals have perished but not had chance to investigate yet. Definitely not pouring in like Michael's though [:0]

What about the boot?? If the boot is leaking, is there anyway the water could be coming from the rear ??

Best thing to do to find water leaks is, either:

(a) get someone to sit in the car and you throw buckets of water on it or,
(b) put talcum power round all the door and window seals on the inside, then pour water over the car and you can see where the water's coming.

Hope you find the leak soon.

Ive tried throwing water over the car and we cant find out where the leak is coming, i also checked the boot and that is bone dry. Where i have ceiled it up the water is coming from the rear window at the bottom on the drivers side its not that bad on the passenger side though, thanks for the advice anyway.
