29th September is the start of term, but over the last 2 years thats never consistently meant the same thing as to the start of freshers

freshers week is usually the week before the start of term, although at many places the students will be arriving on campus during the week before that and they have great campus parties, so there is really a 2 week period that you can take advantage of before they get wise to fact that men only want to deposit sperm.
