Auto Italia Brooklands Motorsport and Aviation Museum 2022

This year we're happy to say that Brooklands is back in the warm(ish?) month of April - no chilly October this time! And even better, the covid restrictions have all been lifted, so there's no excuse not to come and join us ;)

If you haven't been to a forum event before, then we basically meet up in the morning, park up looking all pretty - then you have the rest of the to enjoy yourself with all the entertainment and delights Brooklands has to offer. It doesn't matter what FIAT you are driving, everyone is welcome!

What is this event?

One of the biggest events of the year at Brooklands, celebrating the UK’s obsession with all things Italian. Expect the site to be bursting with all makes of Italian cars and a few motorbikes.

With a great selection of vehicles from Lamborghini, Maserati, Ferrari, Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Abarth, there will be something for everyone to look at. Owners of Italian cars are welcome to bring it on the day, to join in with the fun.

The Mercedes-Benz World circuit will see a line-up of cars being demonstrated at lunchtime, while during the afternoon Test Hill will be running, pitting a line-up of cars against the challenge presented by this unique part of Brooklands. This year there will be just as much to see and do as before, including many trade and club stands, so come early, bring your camera and plan your whole day at Brooklands!

As you veteran attendees will know Brooklands is famous for its Hill Run.

The FF Stand

EVERYONE IS WELCOME! Don't be shy!

This is a great opportunity for newbies to meet fellow Fiat owners, socialise and talk about your pride and joys (if you want ). Come along, chill out on the stand, have a nosey at other members cars and enjoy a fantastic day out!

Last time's photo's can be seen here in the gallery.

Tickets

All details here including advance tickets and paying on the day.

This year it's an electronic ticket, so you will need to print the booking confirmation and bring it with you to the event.

How do I signup?

Well firstly EVERYONE IS WELCOME and indeed the more the merrier - there's just a few things we ask of you:

  1. Please click the RSVP button at the top of this thread

  2. Fill in the Event Registration form found at the bottom of your account details

  3. Download the Stand Pass, fill in your username at the bottom, cut it out and remember to keep it hanging on your rear view mirror all day!

How do I get in on the day?

As we have to go into Brooklands at a scheduled timeslot, we will be doing a group convoy in together.

The meeting point is the Tesco Extra car park in Weybridge from 8:00am, giving you enough time to pick up a coffee or snack and then all heading off together around 8:25am. So PLEASE, don't get there too late - we want a nice leisurely run in!

(When you drive into the Tesco complex, head off to the right side of the car park - then look out for stand passes in FIATs :D)

Once inside, we are in our usual location by the planes :)

6 weeks or so to go :) Let's get some more names down!

Tell your friends, hell, tell everyone! :D
Sadly, this year Brooklands clashes with the (hoped for!) 50th anniversary of the 'Ipswich to Felixstowe Classic Vehicle Run'. It should have been in 2020, but Covid put paid to that. As we used to live in Felixstowe, and I have done the run on a number of occasions, the 50th run is something I have planned to do for some time. All the best to everybody for Brooklands, and if you haven't been there before, you must NOT miss the blast up the test-hill---P.C.?---forget it (and those who HAVE been before will know what I mean!)

Oh no! I hope everyone else doesn't use the same excuse 😬

Now out of reach and time for me (a regular attendee) as I've moved to North Wales. Have always brought two cars so fuel cost is now also an issue.

Will miss the museums!

Wrexham is only down the road from where I now live (Saltney)---are you aware that the next 'cars 'n coffee' will be held at 'Cheshire lakes' on the 10th April? Go onto their website and 'log-in' for the meet. What car would you be turning up in?

I have yet to check out / look up all the local gatherings.

I used to live in/by Saltney 56 years ago (Lache Park Avenue). I still have my original Saltney Post Office Savings Book. One day I'll go to the post office and see what they say. Can't be many, if any accounts and books, still valid :)

The ticketing structure is a bit disappointing though....

If I was on my own it might be a goer but by the time I've paid for the benzina from Wales, a ticket for the Younger Mrs S. and hot-dogs for the Queen of the Sith (who is luckily under 5, so gets in for free) it'll be a £100 gig, for what is essentially wandering around a (albeit quite interesting) car park.

The Family ticket should be £25 .. since the missus isn't all that fussed to attend.. but if she goes, I get to go. If she doesn't go, then I'll be doing something else that Saturday.

I think it's because AI need to give Brooklands quite a big kickback.

Even if you went on a non-event day, tickets for the museum entry are still £20..

New joiner of the a forum but not a new Fiat owner, or of going to this event. With 12 Italian cars it’s a must for us. But this will be my first AutoItalia event with my Panda Sisley that I bought last year. Will there be a special area for the Panda’s? Husband will also be bringing one of our Lancia’s (probably our Beta HPE). Looking forward to the event and showing off my “Bene”.

We can certainly put you need to any other pandas that turn up, but overall the stand welcomes all models 😁
