Technical auto headlights problem

hi all i have a 2004 ulysee the problem im having is the headlights are coming on by themselves during the day is this a common problem where is the sensor located

Is this a new thing or were they like that in the past? (It COULD be that "daytime running lights" are activated. Very simple to de-activate using Lexia or Peugeot planet.)

Or maybe the sensor has a fault - AFAIK it's behind the rear view mirror on the windscreen.
