Had a similar thing happen to me (though its a Dualogic); turned out to be a faulty brake switch.

hi theremy 2001 punto has this problem but when i took it to the fiat shop:bang: they first told me that whats happen never happen all they could tell me is that it was a fault and it's number was p0705 whitch when i looked it up on the net it told me it was
Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction (PRNDL Input) can any one help me with this

they are idiots take it to a better dealer

do you know how to fix this as the next dealer is over a 7 hour drive away:confused:

as t4 says throttle switch adjustment or just simply replacement may sort it as it's driving normally

common fault

i serviced one a wile ago and found someone must have forced the throttle back as it had popped the switch out of holder causing intermittent/permanent light yet driving normally

but a few other basic things you can do check the transmission oil level

if it's low it may overheat and cause problems

another common fault on these box's is the park neutral switch on not sure if it's in the box or on the gear lever

can you start the car in d or r

are right right got it

trust me on this

clean the earth wires to you rear lights

as when you brake the power is going down the reverse light circuit instead and causing it to think it's in reverse hence the error code you have

it's most likely to be a bad connection between the wiring and the lamp unit itself you need to pay most atension to the cleanliness of the black wires connector

then you will need to have the error code erased

if you operate the rear lights and indicators wile someone looks at them you will probably notice they are acting up and flashing on and off with the indicators a bit like a christmass tree
