I got a new 1.8 Stilo last week. I was going through the enormous manual and I noticed that the Radio/CD player should (or could) have come with an electronic code. I didn't get anything from my dealer. Does anyone know something about it? I was wondering if I should ask them for the code.

There's been many many posts about this....

...you should have got a card either from the dealer, in you handbook wallet or posted to you by Fiat. If you haven't got yours make sure you ask your dealer to sort it.

(You will also get a car code which the dealer will need should they ever need to do anything to your car.)

Thanks rriggs.

I got the electronic, mechanical and key code but nothing for the Radio. I'll ask the dealer.

they will, most probably, tell you that they will have to order it. And probably charge you for it. It happened to me and instead of paying for it, I told them that my radio was not acting correctly ( playing dead, losing radio signal e.t.c e.t.c) and I had the hole unit replaced. This way I got the code also! Needless to say it was all in the guarranty.:D

I went to the dealer, I asked and they said that they were sure that they gave it to me!!! Anyway they admitted that I should have got the radio code (they are very helpful over all). I'll go again with all the papers to convince them that it's not there. Unless there is[:0] I got a card that has the electronic and mechanical code on it and a piece of paper having a key code on it and a second number that I don't know what it is...

P.S.: Panteli are you in Athens?

I just realized that i haven't got the electronic CD code either :D

Well, I did not need it until I had to change the body computer because of some stupid fault with locking unlocking the doors. Aparently they needed it to reactivate the stereo. don't really know why. It is a safety measure i guess from VISTEON.
the fact is that you cannot really prove if you got it or not.:(

P.S yes, I live in Athens.(and since you live in switzerland here is a link that you might find interesting

Well I double-checked it and actually I realized that I have the code for the stereo. The Swiss are organized indeed, even the car dealers :D It was a little sticker that has a serial number on it and a 4-digit code which is called "keycode". At first i thought that it was the code for the car keys but actually it's the code for the stereo. So check if you have that...
