Arnold Clark Service Plan - Can't buy one!!!

Just been to my local fiat (Arnold clark) to buy a 3 year service plan, they've told me they can't sell me one as it must be bought at time of car purchase!!!

A bit annoyed as i've had them for the past 6 years without a prob on my old fiat car.

Can any one confirm if this is a load of old wollop?
Any Arnold Clark workers here?

if it is it mean's I'll have to pay full whack on my first service..

a lot of companys have the same rules on extended warrenties
you can go to a 3rd party warrenty company direct and organise it yourself

Sorry would have replied sooner but was day off yesterday and wanted to double check the facts.

Service plan must be bought within 30 days of the purchase of the vehicle. Your sales man would have offered you it and you would have had to refuse it at the time. It's all down to FSA regulations. They are however apparently changing the rules so you can buy one when ever but I don't know when that will happen.
