[V]AGHHHHHH.

Just got back from Arnold clark who have had my car for 2 days to replace a headlamp under warranty which had rust forming on the inside of it - looked a mess!
Anyway they replaced the headlamp - it all looked good till i got home!!!! My car has the foglamps built into the headlights (well it did) So I thought id check all the lights work correclty (wished i'd done it at the dealer) and NO FOG LIGHT ON THE NEW LAMP AGHHHHHHHHHHH.

Anyone know if its just a case of putting a bulb into the new lamp to make it have a foglamp or will I need another complete new headlamp unit???????[V][V][V][V][:(!]

Depends if the gimps have fitted the right light, i'd agree that they've just been lazy gimps and not fitted the fog light bulb.... they'll give you some lame excuse like they never realised the Stilo had foglights!

Sum Arnold Clark in one short statement... AHoles! [:(!]

every stilo does not have foglights as standard equipemnt built in the headlights ...
anyway there is another problem for you ... replacing the foglight is a HELLLL of a though work so if you are thinking of changing or putting a lamp inside ... forget about it and go to the service, again.

Need something better then watchdog, hate that program, nicki the git that doesnt let the other person speak and the so called specialists they get in proclaiming to know all over issues with cars but end up using 3rd party none manufacture parts to claim they really are, shoddy program

Sorry, off on a tangient there but I do hate the program and thier tactics in the past

Just to clear things up as Janevy has muddied the water a bit!

All Stilo's except ones fitted with Xenons have front foglights! :)

Arnold Clark pretty much have a monopoly on Scottish Fiat dealerships, so in Scotland we have no choice but to use Arnold Clark!

Also i wouldn't wait for the next service, i'd take the car right back to the garage and demand why the bulb wasn't fitted, its not a simple oversight, afterall once they'd fitted the new headlamp unit they surely tested all lights! If not then they are just shoddy workmen!

well i put that question here once ... about all stilos having foglights ... and i was told that some of them does not have ... so can somebody clear that up for me but for sure this time???

According to the brochure, "Optional powerful Xenon headlights double as foglights, with headlight washers". I will know for sure when mine is delivered.

Optional powerful Xenon headlights double as foglights 'cos they have the nack of blinding on-coming traffic when viewed at anything other than head on! Kinda like neds with their foglights on! :)

thats a stupid idea fog lights should be low down so they light up the road under the fog, when they are high up they just reflect back on the water droplets in the fog[V]

Hehe, a common misconception, foglights ain't designed to fill in the gap between the front of your car and where your headlights hit the road, they are designed to highlight the kerbs on either side of the road so you can position your car on the road in severe fog! :p

StoloBoy again right ... they are made to put some light on the road lines ... and another advantage of having foglights in the headlights is that no cops can bother you cause there are countries where you cannot drive with foglights on if there is no fog ... and personally i like the headlights more with the foglights on so i always drive with it ON.

Its illegal in the UK to use foglights when there is no fog! Doesn't stop neds and OAP's alike! :p

I've tried going down a dark country road with dipped beam and fogs on and its ok, but if you put the lights on full beam its mince, it even says in the manual to not use the lights on full beam and fogs.

my mercs got fogs in the head lights aimed at the sides and they are still crap in the fog compared to my punto with the low down fog lights:p

Further to my above posting, the 2004 MY Stilo brochure states that all models have integrated foglights.

Only way to check for sure is for one of the 04 owners with xenons to settle if the "new model" (with its raft changes, 1 engine change a few interior features removed, and some white bits) has fogs by checking if they have a front foglight button on the dash! Which non 04 models with xenons dont have!

driving in fog with full beam makes the light reflect from the fog like from a mirror and goes directly into your eyes.... damn scarry
