Hi all

I have some issues with the brackets to cut a long story short is it possible to remove the anti roll bar completely?

Will VOSA or what ever it is called now if I'm stopped give me any bother? Will the car pass an MOT with the arb removed?

Will there be any major change to the handling of the car with arb removed ?

Sorry for all the questions

Cheers

Martyn

What problems are you having with the brackets, broken the ones on your car and are struggling to find replacements? New ones are available from unto.pl

http://www.unto.pl/plytka-mocowania-stabilizatora-seicento-cinquecento-p-3073.html

46410847 x 2
46411026 x 2

You'd need two of each, a total of 89.34zł = £15.77
Plus your postage, it will be under £20 all together and plus they're brand new.

Just send an email in polish to Unto (use Google translate) and give them the part numbers above and say that you wish for them to be posted to the UK. They'll give you a link to the transaction and they generally arrive within a week.
Used them for a few bits and always good service, need order a lot more off them yet as well.

Having done that, albeit to a MUCH different car, I would say prepare for snap oversteer at moderate to high speeds , to put it mildly.

The combination of short wheelbase and really slow steering rack (4 turns for Christ's shake!) won't be your friends

If, on the other hand, you only drive well below legal limits and in town only, it may be a bit better.

Our 899 Sei had an arb but when I replaced the wishbones all the bolts snapped so I never bothered putting it back on. It has had at least two MOT tests since without problems and to me the handling feels exactly the same.

No mot or vosa issues, but you will have to inform you're insurance. They will note it as a mod and charge you more.
If you had an accident where someone was injured, the powers that be would crawl over you're car with a fine toothed comb, anything it should have but hasn't, or anything it has got but shouldn't and they will hang you.

My mate had to pay for damage to his car and someone else's. Then he had a £200 fine and 6 points for driving with no insurance. He was envolved in an accident where a bloke drove into the side of him at a junction, assessor came out to look at his car. They refused to pay out because it had a CD player in it, and he hadn't informed them.
