Tuning aquamist mf2

that was decent alright, i need to go mf2 here in ireland tho, a lot of tuning companies with RR's wont set up megasquirt, seemingly its very hard to map, i havnt a clue about it to be honest, so going to keep it simple and go with mf2 when i find a decently priced system

The guys running megasquirt, kritip,craig and arc have all tuned it them selfs with no rr time, they all seem to be getting on fine.....well i struggle keeping up on what craig is doing, he seems to have a different setup every other day, too much time on his hands

sounds intresting
does it have to be a specific model with megasquirt or can any megasquirt system be adopted and set up on a cinq? i probably sound stupid asking.

and what would be needed to set it up/tune it to suit?

Best off looking/asking in the megasquirt thread or waiting for someone with some knowledge to turn up.

Any megasquirt can be made to run it, but id be looking at the MS2 V3.0 or later as its alot easier. I picked up mine for pretty cheap unbuilt. Have 95% built it myself with no electrical knowledge whatsoever before hand. Getting a little bit harder now, but theres plenty of info about for help. Another advantage of MS over aquamist is that MS will have maps about already that you could 'probably' just load on and go with minimal work.

OI lol
you mean ecu setup? if so then yeah I do tweak quite a lot but its always worth it. thats what is good about MS is that you can tweak and play without much worry and instant support (its open source so all the info you will ever need is online and any answers you cant find are answered usually within an hour)

I think a lot of RR's dont like megasquirt because of past experience with people who have fitted them on there own without taking much care (this can happen with any aftermarket ecu but my guess is more likely with MS)

also... all other ecu as far as i know have copy protection so once they have been mapped they are locked to stop you copying the map or changing settings.



For a turbo setup id defiantly go standalone rather then piggy back which offers no protection against over boost

how can i tell what version one is? and what do you mean by building and whats involved?
and the maps do you have to pay some site anytime you want to upgrade them?

Building= soldering all the components on to the board, testing ect

And you don't pay to change the maps, its done through your laptop

There is no software you set them up using a wideband and a screwdriver

The MF2 is really an obsolete, expensive, peice of junk. Go megasquirt, find a RR that'll do it. Only issue is that you need to go MPI, but that makes sense, anyway.
