General Anyone know...

well depends what you class the current new punto, some call it the mk3, others call it the mk2.5 which I do cause it's not a complete new version, just some suttle changes.

Unless I'm reading that article wrong, it is suggesting this car was displayed by Fiat. I'm dubious cause Brembo on the front? can't see Fiat buying those in :D Wondered if anyone else has seen or heard about this?

From puntopower.com...

New edition at Motorshow 2004
Bologna, 12/8/2004 - Fiat Auto Italy presented at the Bologna Motorshow 2004 fair some cosmetic updates of its lineup, and there's also an interesting update of the Fiat Punto, a yellow Sport model, equipped with 17" wheels, a Brembo brake system with enhance calipers. It's the first time we see a Fiat Punto equipped by the Torinese firm with 17" wheels. More pictures are available in the Fiat Motorshow 2004 dedicated area in the official website.

Firstly I must say I am a big fan of the punto, it's one of the best looking small cars out there IMO.

However, each and every time I look at those mirrors I wonder which idiot should be sacked for the monstrosity!

Yep the puntos ears (I mean mirrors) always look off in anything but black, if they were all yellow or all body coloured then it would be alright, but they're not.
Those new wheels don't look 17" neither, and who is going to pay the extra (prob £1200, you now how Fiat get above themselves sometimes) for low end brembos, for that money you could buy yourself some Tar Ox or even WilWood Billets for that money with new discs and pads!!

They're Punto Abarth Skirts.

Maybe this will be a new HGT Abarth version like they did with the MK2??

It's been tidied up nicely, shame about the lights tho :(

The bumpers are hardly any different to the standard Sporting items by the looks of things.

They say it's a 1.4 16v - Again, the same as the standard Sporting - But does anyone know if it'll be more powerful than the pretty lame 95bhp the Sporting's got at the moment?
