Hi,

iv got a chip for my 147 HGT but havnt got the 'red key'. Now i dont really want to go ahead and replace my ecu with the new chip, then find out iv knackered my engine and need the red key to reset the old ecu..hope your following.

Has anyone had any experience of fitting, or has a chip fitted to firstly any car but more speciaficaly a bravo? If you could shed any light on this id be most gratefull.

cheers

Chip

I think performance wise the chip works well on the 147 HGT - doesnt work very well on a 155 though as its a reprogrammed ecu anyway.
Best results from a chip come with an induction kit and exhaust.

re. superchip

didnt think you needed the red key to reset the ecu, disconect battery for 30 mins - 1 hr and the ecu should recognise any alterations, unless its different when fitting superchip !

Thanks for the help

Hi,

cheers for the help, so you recon i could just change the chips over straight, leave for an hour, then apparently im meant ot drive it for 100 miles so it can reconfigure everything. What are the red keys for then?

cheers

Key

Red key is for when you get a new key cut. They come blank and need to be programmed to work, the red key programmes it. You usually put in the red key turn on the ignition, then put in the new blue on and its programmed.
