Anyone a Sole Trader?

First off, I'm not sure if this is in the right place. if not feel free to move it.

I am looking for info and advice on starting a business, as a sole trader.
I can not find much online most likely I have been looking in the wrong places.

It is not something I'm committed to, just an idea.

Anyone?

Obviously I don't know what line of work you are looking at, but some factors will be constant whatever industry you enter as a sole trader.
1. No boss to answer to, but ultimately nobody to blame either if things go wrong.
2. A holiday means a loss of earnings (generally).
3. If you don't make it happen - it won't happen at all.
4. Keep good records for when you have to produce a tax return / accounts.
It is however more satisfying to have a success for your own business than for somebody else's.
