NOT FIAT RELATED SORRY...

Ok, trying to set up an IIS web server. I have IIS up and running, BUT, I cant get my site using my external IP address. I have my router port forwarding the standard HTTP port (80) to my internal IP address. IIS is also running on port 80.... I have had this running on another "server" in my house which I have done the exact same thing with but its running on port 8080.

As far as I am aware I have no firewall on the server and it should just be very straight forward, but its not working, and I haven't any idea why one works, and the other doesn't.

If it helps the one that works is WinXP Pro, and the one that doesn't is Windows 2000 Server (SP4)

P.s. I'll post this on a computer forum if nobody can help... but I fear ridicule.

hey alex,

you need to point your external IP address to your local IP address. Im running an FTP server on mine and use a program called "WinConnect" to route the IP address. You can either PM me your email addy and i'll mail it to you or, if you go to www.dyndns.org and sign up, then its in the list of clients there.

HTH, and let me know if you need more info
