Hi, I now have in my cinq a Sony cdx2000 hu, a 2x70w Fury amp powering some Sony 200w 6x9's, a Vibe 12" active sub in the boot and just the standard fiat front speakers. All of this sounded great to my amateur ears until I amped the Sony 6x9's up with that amp.

So my questions are.....
When I junk the Sonys would that amp suit the Infinity 9603i 6x9s or Pioneer TS-A6910 6x9 better than my Sonys are? Or would I be better off getting the Vibe 2x100w amp to power the Pioneers or Infinitys

What speakeres do you reccomend I replace the front dash ones with, without mods, I dont want to amp them, and yes I want to keep the front dash grills on.

And why am I experiencing "clipping" ,I think its called, at highish volume?

All of this I've got and getting from the dreaded Halfrauds so any help from you lot rather than salesmen would be great, thanks alot cheers.

I have both the sony's and the infinitys in mine. I use the sonys in the arm rests as sort of backing sound and the infinities in the rear shelf. The infinities are 100% better than the pioneers in my opinion and you can test them all in the new halfrauds stores. They give a little bit more bass the sounds too on top of the sub, to which i have a JBL1000w. Hope this helps. Dan

cheers D4NS.

yes a few people have said the Infinitys are the best I could get specially for the money (£49.99) at Halfords.

What 10cm ones have you got in the front and are they a straight forward fit complete with original dash grills back on.

Ive got this years sony 10cm's. I was going to put the grilles on but they look ****e (no offense). I'm guessing they would fit, but not sure. The worst that could happen is you need to use longer screws and put a few washers between the grille and the dash, if you really do want the griles. You'll probably change ur mind like i did, but hey u might have a reason, such as security or stupid friends. lol

How technical an answer do yu want??

Basically, yure input signal is too high for the amp to amplify without destroying part of the signal (as far as i understand, an amp will boost an input signal by a set gain factor regardless of whether it destroys the signal or not- an amp isnt that clever).

Turn the amp gain down. I set mine by making it clip at 75% of the max volume - I usually dont go much above 50%. (y)

cheers arseofbox, I will give that a try. The gains on about a quarter at the mo.

turns out I've wired the amp up wrong and ****ed it! The protection light is coming on and every other time I turn the ignition on the 6x9's are cutting out. Hell!!

Oh well, Halfords do refunds dont they!! :D
