Hi there, thought I would hop onto this forum to pick the brains of those more mechanically minded than me!!!
I have the pleasure of owning a genuine never messed about with Punto GT turbo of 1996 vintage and probably owned it since 1999. However, it had gearbox issues, so got left on the drive for around 10 years. Then did the necessary work and have been enjoying driving it for the last year until - the gearbox or differential gave up this week and it's sat on my drive again in need of a replacement gearbox.
Does anybody have one sitting in their garage or workshop?

Welcome Andrew , there is a GT gearbox on eBay at the moment , starting bid £100 , like all the gt parts are becoming rare prices might be high , not sure how much it would cost to recon your box ? , you’d know it was good rather than a second hand one that night have unknown issues.

I feel I agree with Steve here, find a local (or local as possible) gearbox specialist that can go through it and refresh it, its not like any box you find 2nd hand is going to be fresh and new. They would go through and replace anything damaged and replace all the bearings etc and it'd basically be good as new then.

And welcome to forum
