General alternater question

are cinq and punto alternators the same?can you use a punto 1108/1242 alternator on a cinq?

na alternator...that thing that charges the battery!i know that there's issues with what alternator to use(pully or sumthing)when doing the 1242 swap so i was just wondering if the alternators are the same.
