Jesus, the claws went for £340, a nice saving over the £520.71 of the Brio list, but still to me a hell of a high price! B)

The spokey 16's went for a bargain £190, list being £464.63 :I Oh no they haven't someone has just bid up to £285 at the last minute! The fools! B)

And to cap it all i was highest bidder at £122 on one set of 16's and in the last minute some git has outbid me to £221.59!

I got the 17" set for £310.00. I offered him £350.00 in a private sale and he said I might get them cheaper. He was right, Was I right to go for the 17"' cos looking at 16" tyres, they seem hard to come by and expensive too?

I knew they would go daft at the last minute, I reckon TC was right in saying a dealer would near match the end prices, also as I have mentioned before a local dealer has offered me any of the 17's WITH TYRES for £650, a bit of a bargain I reckon!

So didn't you end up with any Stiloboy?

You guys really should get in touch with your dealers, they can if prompted make you a good offer regarding parts and accesories if they really want to.

I'll give you an example, my dealer sold me a Stilo rear spoiler, it is in the Brio mag at £90, I phoned three dealers they offered me it from £75 to £105, so I told my local dealer and he matched £75. Now the stupid thing is that the parts guy told me that they couldn't go any lower than that because they buy them in at £46 and they have to make a minimum of 30% profit!

So there you go, that'll give you an idea of their margins, thieving bastards! [!]

So TC, do you not think £310.00 is a good deal. Using your example as a model then effectively I should have paid £325.00 for them to make their margin.

No, I wasn,t saying you didn't get a good deal, I was just making the point that with some haggling at your dealers, you get, brand new original guaranteed products available on site for collection, hassle free really, just trying to help you guys out.

James i read your posts a couple of times and i've noticed that a dealer offered you 17s+tyres for 650 ... you always say with tyres ... havent you asked yourself what kind of tyres will they offer?When i'm choosing tyres for my car i make hell of a reading magazines and testing cause it can affect my car in a thousand of ways ... be carefull with your choice

doubt that ... cause dunlop sp's are one of the more expensive tyres on the market ... but if they eventually came up with sp's you have totaly nothing to worry about .. except for Bridgestone Potenza drivers ...

Hi, no it wasn't a joke, I have my local free newspaper right here in front of me and Mr.Tyre Ltd are doing Dunlop SP2000 215/45/17V at £59.99 each including fitting, balncing and valves, they also offer a 10% discount if you have all four done!

Yes they do them for 16s, they come standard on most UK Stilos, it's what mine had on when I bought it, it's what FIAT offered to put on the alloys I bought from them too, they are a good tyre, but a mid compound so you might not get inter-gallactic mileage from them but they are quiet and grippy in both wet and dry conditions.
