Hope someone could guide me in the right direction...

Brought a Ducato motorhome in March and the Air Con has never worked. Was found to have a leak in one of the AC pipes, the thin one. Thats been replaced and the system regassed, its holding pressure fine.

However when turning on the AC with engine running, the AC pump doesnt kick in. Checked the fuse for that circuit and its fine.

Any ideas on what ay be the cause or how to diagnose further?

Are you absolutely positive it's holding its pressure?

Many systems won't allow the compressor to kick in unless the system is charged (filled)

Does the compressor clutch not make any noise at all ?

You'd need to be confirming supply at the compressor clutch/mech first I think.

Thanks for your reply.

The system was filled / gassed 2 days ago, and the company that gassed it said everything was fine and holding pressure. Immediatley after the system was filled, turned on engine and compressor not kicking in. No noise from compressor or noticable engine load.

So do you recommend a multimeter on the power supply cable to compressor first to check voltage etc?

Also would you know wich relay is responsible for this? Manual doesn't seem to list them.

Yeah just confirm the voltage at the compressor solenoid, you could as easily measure the resistance there with the cable disconnected.
12v might not be there constantly, so keep reading it for a while.

Just obviously make sure your test leads are well away from moving parts when checking ☠️💀

Could also be a pressure switch that's acting up and not letting the electronics know there is good pressure in the system 💡

As for related relays and fuses:

Relays T05 and T09 and fuse F19 (all engine compartment)
Also F39 and F51 (inside cabin)

Can't find the locations of the high and low pressure switches , but take a look around the pipework and you should find them.
