Hi,

I was told when there is a fault with one of the airbags, that the rest will still deploy in the event of a crash. Does anyone have proof that?

Cheers,
Steve

When the airbag light is on there could be the possibility that the airbag doesn't deploy during a crash. But the computer will still try to deploy it. I've seen occasions that the light was on but all the airbags did deploy during a crash.

But (because of legal reasons) they leave the light on as long as the airbag system isn't diagnosed since the last fault.

On the contary, the airbag system is like the ABS and a fail safe system, so if there is a fault, and as such the light is on, the system is deactived.

Thanks for your replies.

I wonder is there a categorical answer to this from the manufacturer?

Steve
