It seems I've been more lucky than most Stilo owners, since I've had my car for 3,5 years without a single "Airbag failure" warning.

Until now. :(

Used FiatECUScan, which told me the problem was "Side airbag (rear driver's side)", and that the error was intermittent (yes, I've sort of noticed ;)). Also, it said the "error counter value is 120", which tells me nothing, really, does it mean anything to the people here?

I guess it's my turn to follow Deckchair5's guide (or perhaps have the garage do it, just in case). I just wanted to double-check, which connector is the likely culprit here? Is it the orange one in the boot near the rear strut top mount?

Not sure what "error counter value is 120" means. Could it mean you've started the car 120 times since the error was first recorded?

The connector for the rear seat side airbags are shown as yellow in eLEARN. They are Q42 and Q43 on this diagram. You may need to check both sides, there's often confusion with daignostic programs when referring to driver's side and passenger's side with LHD and RHD cars.

Don't know, but I definitely haven't started the car 120 times since I first had the first "Airbag failure" warning.

Do you know how I'd get access to those connectors?

eLEARN is never very clear on component locations. On my MW with rear seat airbags, I've seen yellow connectors near the floor at the outer corners of the 2 outer rear seats, however eLEARN says there are connectors inside the seats that connect directly to the airbags. I'd check for them around the floor first.

Then it's probably this connector below the levers for adjusting the rear seats (see the first attachment).

I managed to disconnect the connectors and clean the male connector, but I was not able to access the female connector (see the second attachment), does anyone know how to handle it?
