Replacing the standard air filter with another standard one is easy.
How long ya think it will take mate? and is it a case of just unclipping the old one out and clipping a new one in?
Yes, that's about it. My trained 12 year olds can do it in 2 minutes (unless they fall into the engine). 
it was about 3 screws on my punto and took about 2 minutes.

Ah thats grand then lol may i ask what does an air filter actually do does it increase fuel performance? Also are they expensive or do i need to find one that is a correct fit to the 1.1 sporting cinq?

Performance air filters are more "open" when compared to the normal standart filters and allor more air to be sucked in to the engine.
Fuel consumption should be about the same as should the performances. Only a GSR admission or a BMC-CDA give you some noticable gains in power and torque.
Browse the K&N, Green or any other filters brand and look for the specific reference for the Cento Sporting.

Easiest "performance" filters to fit are things like the K&N replacement panel filters (which just replace your old filter in the original housing).
Peformance increase will not be great, but they will last longer than the car.
