What is the reason why these wont fit?
E.G Supersprint...

Is it the simple fact that it is to short?

Just want to check before I start phoneing places about a custom manifold.

(P.S Don't think this has been posted before  )

I think this is because the 1242 is 10mm taller than an 1108 and if you put an after market exhuast onto a 1242 then the end of the manifold will not line up with the rest of the zorst (cat backwards). The 1242 uses the same head as the 1108 therefore it would attach to the engine without any problems.

I know with the std zorst a spacer is required between the downpipe and manifold when fitting a 1242.

See pic, this is petes old 1242 sliver one.

Of course you could always get an aftermarket manifold designed for a Punto 60, which would then fit. May require adapting to fit the rest of the system, but any exhaust place should be able to do that for you.

Finally the answer I was going to reply with, the Punto manifold should fit easier and with more Punto's around they could possible be cheaper too!

I was looking at the supersprint manifold wen i got mine and dont think there was one for the punto 60 iirc. Me and ghost were trying to work out if my supersprint would fit on the 1242 as he had seen one on a 1242 sei.

With my car up on ramps today i did have a look and had a rough measurement and there is at least about 15 mm clearence between it and the bottem of the engine, now this could mean that wit a 1242 in with the supersprint manifold there would be about a 5mm gap with it raised to meet the higher engine.

Dont quote me on it tho as the ramps wasnt high enuf to measure properly but there as at least more than 10mm, if someone has the time to meet up wit you jamie and unbolt their's and try it on yours you could know for sure.

Edit* just saw u posted ghost, must of been while i was typing

I am hoping to construct my own manifold this summer. I have a job lined up in a small exhaust manufacturers. Worked there for a few days over xmas. They do smaller jobs for companies like Aston Martin and Jaguar. I'll have to see how the job goes but i may be able to produce sommert.
