adjust brightness???

was just sitting there using forum and using up and down on a page, i then held down and for some reason its adjusted my screen brightness and its really dim now the up and down arrows have a sun on them so i presume this is for brightness but i have no idea how i adjusted it or how i can again?

please help.

before it used to be light with power and dim with battery, now its other way round!

If the suns are in blue (likely on a Dell), then hold down the Fn key and press up/down.
