Technical Abs + Handbrake Light

Hi can anyone help me.I have a marea weekend elx (t reg 1999) and the ABS + the hand brake light has come on.I would like to get some information on this before taking it to the fiat dealers and spending the kids christmas present money on it.Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Three things to check first.
Brake fluid level, brake pad wear and handbrake switch.

Thanks dave just checked the fluid level does seem low so will top up in the morning and hope that cures it.Also the injector light came on today but did not notice any performance loss. Any idea.Thanks

Mine's a diesel and my injector light came on with no loss of power too... it ended up that it was a small split in one of the fuel return pipes off the injectors... I was actually really impressed that it could pick that up!

Fiat Marea Weekend '51 reg' '1.9 JTD'

We had the same problem & we had to have the head gasket changed, hope this helps .

Hello all i posted a couple of questions earlier in the year one was the ABS light + handbrake light on and the injector light on.The first turned out to be brake pads needed changing and the handbrake switch and the injector light was the spark plugs arcing due to the engine being steam cleaned.The dealers wanted £90 to do the brakes did them myself £25 for pads + 10 min per side £16 for plugs.
