was driving the abarth a moment ago and i heard the dreaded.. beep beep beep.

look down at the lcd display and it said coolant temperature sensor fault or something along those likes it was extremely fast at showing and going...

Im wonder if this would explain my cars lack of go once really hot.. any thoughts anyone?

just checked the handbook and i have found the symbol. it is the one which says Coolant Temp. Sensor failure.

According to the book it is the radiator fluid temperature sensor, im guessing this is an intermittent fault but could anyone direct me in the right direction for this one?

More probably a poor contact at the coolant temp sensor causing it to return an out of value figure. I'd pull off the connector and clean it up with some electrical contact cleaner

I put a guide in the Stilo Guides See "testing your rad fan" as to what the actual resistance figures should be at different temperatures for the coolant temp sensor so you can check it with that if you like. If it just flashed up then disappeared it's more likely just an intermittent connection.
