A2 or AS Level?

I'm looking at doing a nightclass in photography this year. I want to do an A level over two years. I have to do either a A2 or an AS this year but have no idea what the difference is. It wasn't this complicated when I was at school! Does anyone know the difference?

No - I am old school, don't even understand how it works now. Can't even get my head around the school years either

AS is the first year of the A-level, the A2 is the second year of the A-level and the 2 combine to give you a full A-level

no problem at all, only reason i remembered is my old school sent me a letter saying i havent collected my certifiacates yet, only 3 years down the line now

Its all too bloody complicated these days, they brought in AS and A2's the year after I left, thank bloody god, it seems to me like they brought the division of a-levels in to make grade figures look better, if someone drops out after one year, o well eh, such is politics
