After a week of owning the uglybug front drop links are being done today on the drive and track rods that should solve the knocking

One question on tick over sounds lumpy (1.6) fine driving picks up well no stalling just sounds lumpy any ideas or best left as it it drives fine

HT leads, coil packs or plugs are a good starting place, try finding a nice dark lane and open the bonnet, having removed the engine cover if 1.6's have them.

If you're lucky you might see tracking on the HT leads, having said that HT leads and plugs are cheap, coilpacks aren't.

Leads look new but means nothing

Last service was 10k ago so might just fully service it

It is the coil packs that tend to fail not sure why though think they just crack and snap open coil packs can be brought 2nd hand for 20 pound recon witch isn't bad try flea bay for one

It's now missing like a b***h ordering coil pack in morning from evil bay

eBay want 30 pound plus d.a motors charge 20 with free p and p give them a try
