Hi,

I have recently encountered some serious problems with my Fiat Bravo 2000, 1.6 S.X car.
To begin with, I'd say I have taken my car to the garage for a car Timing belt replacement. My car has driven quite well later on (after few days/weeks), and then, a problem occurred that is realted to the engine.
A few people I know that have some understanding with vehicles ( I really don't have very much understanding) have told me that there is a problem with the crank, and there isn't really much to deal with it, so I understood that it will be better to replace an engine.
I have bought a Fiat Brava, and have taken them to the garage by towing them. (Fiat Brava and my Fiat Bravo).
After the engine of my Fiat Bravo was out and a the proper engine of the Fiat Brava was placed, it felt like my car, still isn't functioning well.
I'm telling you this quite in short, but currently my Fiat Bravo is not running well.
I'd try to specify you the problems I remember -
Sometimes the car starts okay, it is running quite well, however, later on, it starts to have problems. Problems like sound of knocks, drives slower and seems to have difficulties to drive faster. (for example, do you know that feeling when sometimes you need to shift to the 2ed gear but by mistake you have shifted to the 4th gear and your car starts to barely drive? So it kind of feels like when you shift to the 2ed gear, as though you have shifted to the 4th gear.) Moreover, the car has backfires, that later on caused a part of my exhaust to break, and burned some of my plastic (if that's how it's called).
My car also sometimes turns off by itself.
I have understood that when my car gets colder, it can start and drive quite well, but when it gets hotter, it starts to have problems as I've already mentioned, and even won't turn on.
As far as I'm aware of, my car doesn't have any problems with temperatures.
These problems are quite confusing.

I'd mention my car has been through quite few garages, and still isn't fixed.
Some people I have consulted with think the problem is realted to the starter of the car, short circuit.
Furthermore, I was told perhaps it could be because of Exhaust Restrictions.
I also found a video online that quite reminded me of my car problem, I don't think it's the exact problem, but as I've already said, it reminded me of my car problem, and I understood that the cause was Oxygen sensor, poor petrol.

* I hope you have understood more or less what I've been meaning.

What do you think the problem is?

Thanks.
