Styling A problem Lowering!!

ok i want to lower my cinq by 40mm once my 14inch alloys are fitted the tyres dat are going on are 185/50/14.

but ive ask a bloke to give me a quote and do the job as his a friend of a friend but he said that it wouldnt be a good idea to lower it as the car sits low as it is.

Does any1 have any problems with there cinq lowered 40mm on 14inch alloys. any pictures of there car lowered would be very help as i would like to see what it looks like.

I really want to lower my car but i dont want any problems or hassel.

dude that is crap.... u can get away with a 60mm drop on 14's with some to spare for some ice!

i for instance am gonna b droppin mine 70mm at the front when i get tyres on my 14's

40mm on 14's is easy! not 1 single problem with rubbing (except over huge speed bumps!)

and u can do it yourself in a day!

yep 100% i have got a set of punto GT wheels, waitin on 185/50 tyres so that should give me a bit more ground clearance, i want the arches full!

mine used to rub with 60mm drop and 185/60/r13 tyres

they have RR of 276mm, 185/50/r14 is going to have 270mm. Its only 6mm less and if u drop it 10mm more.. i think you're going to run into trouble unless you roll the arches

mines lowered 30mm on 14s and i want it lower... ive got 40mm springs but cnat be arse to do it till ive got my buckled alloy sorted...

ill do it for u (I did write the guide after all , i am however, no expert lol, just know how to do it )... i live in chingford which is kinda essex lol.

all of those bar the arb scrape on mine, although i have had one or 2 quick scratches of the arb, but would be more frequent if the car was lower

i havent hit anything yet and im running 14's and lowered it by 30mm (apex kit)

the only damage that its done to my car is crack the b-pillars

ive done the sump with 1 big ok fat person in the back with a standard setup sei sporting

at the end of the day when modding any car there will be problems otherwise they would have come off the line lower faster and better looking

i have min dropped 60 all round on 14s and its fine, you have to crawl over speedbumps e.g. breaking down them, theres abit of rub in th back when you really hack it round corrners. its well worth it the car looks the ****** and you can go much much quicker.

oh rite cool so really i shouldnt have any problems, only if i went lower like 50-70mm.

my girlfriend and my dad aint to keen on me lowering my car but im goin for it anyway.

Like people say it LOOKS so much better.

rolling the arches was already in the plan! hehe

all i really want is the arches full, i have seen donkey's cinq lowered 60mm on 14's and there is still over 2cm of clearence!

i am lucky around where i live cause i hardly go over speed bumps, but that sort of lowering is a while off yet, still havent got the spacers, bolts, and tyres to fit the wheels!

guess we will have to wait an c.
