Its only running on 3 at the most .

Went to change the spark plugs.
No1 oil on threads
No 2 OK
No 3 Green corrosion on the end
No 4 OK however difficult to remove lead , finished with a mangled lead ,not suitable for further use.

so i fitted new plugs and plug leads but no improvement.
No 1 lead shows no spark at all.

What now ??

I have a multimeter

Thanks guys,

Iwould test the coil resistance butI didnt understand what Haynes Said.

I suppose the coils are Main dealer Only ?

I was worrying about the oil , that is a relief to know its probably that, it does seem oily around there ,.

Once again ,thanks.

i dont get what haynes meant when testing them

you should be able to order the part from fiat. try swapping the input wires over on the coils (and swap the leads so it still fires in the correct order!) and see if it sparks. it should, if not then its not the coil pack at fault.

you can do a basic test on a wasted spark coil by using a test meter set to check continuity.
to check the HT secondary windings, remove the 2 ht leads and connect your test meter, one lead at each ht output. make a note of your reading.
reconnect you leads to avoid confusion.

do the same for the other coil, and you should have a very similar reading if all is good.

to test the primary windings remove the low tension connection to the coil and test in the same way as before and make note of the reading.

same for the other coil, and compare.

i'm assuming you have an injector light on?
don't turn the ignition on with the coils disconnected, otherwise another fault code will be stored on the ecu.
