I'm looking to purchase a Fiat and the VIN given is 9 digit.

Can you suggest a way I can decode this VIN to find out the exact car being sold. (I wanna make sure the owner is being 100% truthful).

VIN numbers are longer than 9 digits.

e.g.

ZFA183000*000nnnnn
ZFA194*000*02014302

ZFA = Fiat
183 = Barchetta
194 = Croma

However the first part of the VIN e.g. ZFA183nnn or ZFA194*nnn is 9 digits/letters

Would help if you can tell us what you do have?

Older VINs (ie. for classic 500's) didn't follow that convention

Listing says 1966 Fiat Arbath 850TC. I'd like to input the VIN somewhere to tell if this is the actual car?

Do you know where i can input a 9 digit VIN?

I don't think there is anywhere that you can input an early VIN to get details of the car.

This is the only serial number information I have for 850 models.

Hello, i’m a new member here and am trying to decode the VIN on my 2004 Fiat Punto 16v active sport. I understand that ‘ZFA’ is for Fiat, but what production facility does ‘188’ denote please?
