Technical 899 - Bigger engine swap??

What engines will fit easily into a lil non-sporting cinq? Basically bolt for bolt, as ive heard a punto 60 fits into a cinq sportin, but what about mine? also what else has to be exchanged, like wire looms, exhausts, gears? im planning on doing the conversion myself, so it has to be as easy as possible lol

to be fair mate, the only engine that will go in a 899cc Cinq bolt for bolt is another 899cc Cinq engine

I'd love a swap in my 899cc Sei too, but I don't think there's anything that's easy to change :-(

Having said that, couldn't you go to a scrap yard and swap parts between a dead Sporting and you one to make it into a sporting under the bonnet?

why are you so bothered 1.1 is only about 20-30 mph faster and quicker on accelaration. Has a higher fuel consumption and everything. It aint worth it, my sx is great I have hardly any props with it and it can go quick if you push it.

basically i want the car to be a bit more speedy. I love my car to bits, but it just dont move lol. It pulls to 40 in second gear, but then it just seems to stick to that. Its got a k&n on and it seems my car is all growl no action. hehe it makes the noises, but dont go no-where... really crap for overtakin. is there anyway i could adapt the engine to run better, by possibly up-rating things then?

..and I can get 50mpg from my 1242 non turbo cinq, easy.

Cov69 - it's easier to buy a sporting.

I had a Cinq SX, the first time i drove my sporting, i nearly s**t my pants! I never realised how much quicker they actually are!

I don't really care how many more mph it can do, but I would like some more torque. My current 899cc has also got some ignition problems, but I suppose an new engine may not even solve the problem [V]. I wouldn't expect much worse fuel economy from a 1.1 and it should be considerably faster. I'm only getting 40mph from my 899cc [V]

However I can not mod ait and put in things like neons and stuff I want a modded car that turns faces and a punto can do that.

when i first took my cinq for a test drive (when i was buying it) it was fookin great heh! so much quicker than my 1.0 Uno! I just had to have it there and then heh.. although its a bit slower now with my 15" wheels on but still faster than the uno

would be easier and probably more cost effective to just sell up the 899 and buy a sporting

I think your engine is needing some work. Make sure its fully serviced, new oil and filter, with a flush, new airfilter and remember the fuel filter. Plugs, properly gapped.

My 899 cruises at 70 all day long.

If you want to do more, a head job would be a place to start, but thats not cheap.

You obviously haven't seen some of the modded Cinq's about then. Puntos only turn faces if they're original. there are too many cars out there that look exactly the same. What's the point in having a modded car if you haven't passed your test yet anyway??
