Ok I've had enough of the Pirelli's on the 750 as they're a 55 profile and it's like rubber bands round the alloys. I think I've lost at least 2 fillings in the last week on the wee Northern Irish country lanes I go to work on!

I'm going to go for 165/70 R13. I assume the 70 profile would be the normal on these cars?

Remember it's got cinq alloys that are much wider than the stander panda wheel.

Well the alloys are 13 inch which is the same as a standard panda wheel so they're not any taller, just a bit wider (well, I'll take it that they are wider as there are 165's comfortably on the car at the moment)

And it quite obvious that the car is undertired as the speedo is well out at higher speeds.

Also from some angles it looks like I've fitted wheels of a peddle car they're that small!:p
(hehe)

80 would be the profile if it didn't have alloys.

The Parade has 155/65 13's on it.. bit of a pain to find. I got a new set fitted a couple of months ago, the guy in the tyre place said he thought they were the wrong size until he got the book out and found they were correct, the original Pirelli P8000's. They must have been the ones it was fitted with new, 13 years ago. No wonder they were starting to perish..

Cheers,

Plug

155/65 R13's are the correct fitment, it's only you 4X4's that get to have bigger tyres with thier extra torque. cheers Damon

I would recommend 155/70/R13 tyres, and you get a better ride and they are the cheapest tyres to buy (about £17 fully fitted).

On a Panda that may be the best, but I've a panda with Cinquecento wheels......

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
165/55-13 ..... 3.6in ......10.1in .......20.1in ...... 63.3in ..... 1001 ..... 0.0%
165/70-13 ..... 4.5in .....11.0in ..... 22.1in ...... 69.4in ...... 913 ..... 9.7%

165/55/13 is the correct size for Cinq Sporting alloys :)

The original panda was fitted with 135/80/13 and the 4x4 145/80/13, the wider a tyre gets a percentage of the diameter gets larger as well

Yeah, I keep forgetting that the 70 is a percentage rather than an actual mesurement.

Jim, are you keeping the Cinq alloys? Do you not have a set of Panda steelies on one of the other cars? You're welcome to look through the wheels I have in the garage if you need some. Not the Mk1 steelies though!

Alan really liked them on the car and the 750 is really his till I let him buy another Mx5:p

I like the look of the bigger tires on the car, it looks well funky 4x4 with them and the arch extentions.

Jim,

I'm being given a set of the same cinq alloys you have that I'm hoping to put on my panda 1000cl for the next few months. Are they an easy fit? Did you fit 165/70s in the end?

Tim :)

Maybe I'd not go for the 165's if I'd the choice again. 155's 70s should be enough but I wanted the chunky look with the alloys, wheel arch extentions and all. The 750's 30 odd BHP isn't much to turn them big wheels. The car came with the correct alloy bolts (they are slightly countersunk) and they just fitted straight on without any hassles.
I'm thinking of swapping the wheels with Sylvia for the US trip as it would give her that rally car look that I can't really afford to do anymore:eek:

Wondering if some kind soul will donate bull bars for the trip (hint, steve, hint! hehe!)
