So I finally got my car and after 6 months I thought I would post my views for members/prospective buyers.
It is quite a high spec example so firstly I will review the extras...
Sunroof - awesome, good idea, but must remember to close as i'm sick of waking up to the alarm in the rain !!!
alarm - bit sensitive (can probably be adjusted) but works fine.
Cruise control - works great, a godsend for my motorway travelling and stops me from speeding (most of the time).
MP3 stereo - excellent, song titles scroll across, but only 2 months ago realised there was a graphic equalizer until then I was very unhappy (in my ignorance) of a lifeless sound system. :0)
dual zone cc - nice touch looks good stops the missus sweating me out (she's always freezing), now she sets her side, i set mine.
cold climate pack - the heated seats are a MUST for leather and work lovely, not sure what else is incorporated into the ccp but i thought heated window washers was one - they didn't get through the snow the other week, dissapointed as the salt off the m4 was making vis a real problem.
I am overall happy with the car but do wish I'd gone for the Abarth, coming from an MR2 the diesel, although fine, is how can i say, well.......a diesel. I miss the response you get from a petrol engine, however I travel 70miles each way to work and for the mpg I can't have my cake and eat it. However, on the motorway stretch @ 80 - 90mph I am averaging 43mph, nowhere near the book consumption but this, i think, is not a Fiat problem but an industry wide issue.
FAULTS SO FAR - on 3 occasions an 'engine fault' has occurred on the display. seems to be when i put my foot down on the freezing mornings or when its been raining particularly hard. Anyway it goes after a day or so.
Air vent to rear (between front seats) cannot be closed.
So I would some it up by saying the car 'does exactly what it says on the tin'. it is good in every area but doesn't really excel in any. but at these prices you can hardly complain.
my friends tend to note the build quality and the golfesque heavy closing doors. i still think its a great looking car and seems to be winning over the public slowly, definatly more and more of us about!!
Please feel free to ask any questions and I will try to address as best I can.
Stilo 1.9JTD Dynamic, Moire Black, Leather, MP3 stereo, cruise control, dual zone climate control, sun window, electronic alarm, spoiler/skirts, cold climate pack.
