HI
I have just bought a 1966 600D following 20 years plus with a 500L - now sadly sold. The 600 is in fair nick but the aim is to use it for sprints/hillclimbs/historic racing etc. It already has Abarth suspension and various other appropriate bits but the major issue is the engine!
Having done some online research I am more confused than when I knew nothing.
The ideal donor motor seems to be an Autobianchi but they seem to fall into the "hens teeth" category. Second choice seems to be a 903cc from various cars but not various others!
How do I know which is the right one and where can I find a decent one -- all ideas suggestions (not rude) gratefully received.
Peter

Not sure if this is true or if it is, which engine it applied to, but many years ago, I heard that one of the 600, 850, 903 Fiat engines turned the opposite way and if you fitted the wrong one, you ended up with 4 reverse gears and 1 forward.

Worth checking before spending any money.

Dave.

Thanks for all of your replies!
All I really want to know is if there is a definitive list of engines that will fit and where I am likely to source one from................
