53 punto/cd player

Basicallly i recently bought myself a 53 plate punto active sport. Previously had a 02 plate. I bought a kenwood KDC 241 model. When i went to fit it it had power going to it and the eject button worked, but the display wouldnt work. So i went to halfords and asked them they said it was just a change of one of the pins apprently however they want £20 just to change 1 pin .... and being a student havnt got hardly any money. Anyone got any ideas how it works and what pins i have to move ?!

use the search function as its been covered literally hundreds of times here (or simply join red & yellow wires together) then when its sorted donate us a fiver (to become a star FF member....welcome by the way) still saving yourself £15 for a curry & a few beers
