500 500 TwinAir Plus

Introduction

Got my new car yesterday,

There was a very tiny dent in the front wing :(
They are getting dent master to fix it, plus I have one in my Caravelle which can be done the same time, so positive from a negative :)

Tried quite hard on the way to work, and got nearly 58mpg out of it.

Just fitted the Brodit clip, need to run a usb cable to the usb port now.

Going to matte black vinyl the roof in the next few weeks, and I wonder if one of those very short antennas will fit ? There are a new accessory for the new Panda...

It definitely needs a beating with the lowering stick :yum:

Like it. Looks a Mean Machine. Hope the dent gets fixed ok.

Wow - very nice indeed, actually really loving the total black look. Kinda thinking that maybe I should have gone for that rather than Tech House Grey - but mine should be here in a couple of weeks, so can't change my mind now! :p

Echo other posters in asking for more pics, especially of the interior.

Congrats again, hope they get the dent out!

Dent is sorted on the fiat. Great job!

Now I find oil on the drive.

Just checked it, it's below the minimum on the dipstick.
I love Fiats!!!! :D

I'll see if I can get some more pics before they come to tow it away.

Good to hear the dent was done to your satisfaction. I have had similar jobs done on a Jag and an Audi and never been disappointed. Sorry to hear about the oil hope not too serious.

What can I say?

I really can't imagine how you must be feeling.

Sincere condolences and wishing you the very best in getting a satisfactory resolution.

It's ok, I'm not worried. I've come to realise these things are trivial in the bigger picture and not worth fretting over.

Anyway, I may be wrong about the oil level?? There's definitely a leak though

I've posted a thread about it on the main 500 section.

Here's some more pics :)

even looks good with the hood up!?!?

Very nice, love the all-black look!

But can't believe upon delivery it had a dent and oil leak, unbelievable.

Thanks, I just had a call, the dent guy is coming at 4 today.
Lets see how good he is???
wonder if he can polish out the smashed tomtom screen too? :D

TA+ looks great Deeyup.(y)
Hopefully you'll get the dent and oil leak sorted.
That's an awful shame about the cracks on that expensive Tom Tom.
Do you have anyone that will be able to fix it ?

Medjmedj, you can buy the side strips.
£50 or so eBay.

LH, the dent is done, it was tiny anyhow.
The tomtom is not mine. It belongs to my buddy who is the the Fiat
Sales manager who supplied the car. He asked me to fix it for him.
I got it working again. It needs a new digitiser but still works fine.

I'm taking the car back tomorrow to see about the leak.

Interested in the outcome. Hope it's only minor(y)

No oil leak. They have topped it up though as was 1/2 way between min and max.

Suggested wax maybe dropping off the underside as it was the first time the car had reached full temp during the drive home on Monday???

Looked like oil to me? Waxoil??

Anyway, I'll keep an eye on the level.

Not done so great on the mpg yesterday or today, 48mpg according to the computer.
Still early days and I had some fun too.

Early observations are, it doesn't like speed bumps as much as my C1, and the kids are complaining that its smaller in the back. It's smaller in the front too. Not by much. The centre console takes a lot of room just like in the panda.
The brakes are much better in the 500 and it goes better under full steam.
I do find though that the motor is no where near as flexible as the C1's. It really doesn't like going under 1500rpm especially out of eco mode.
Hills I could pootle up at 30 in 5th in the Citroen aren't even drivable in 4th in the 500.

Still, I love it! It looks great, has loads of poke and is good fun.
Can be economical and has loads of character.
I've had strangers ask to swap keys with me, but I said I only do that at parties!

What more can I ask of it?!?!
No breakdowns, that would be good. Other than that, as a small car that can get me to work and squeeze into spaces other cars leave I think it's perfect.
