Has any one noticed the changes Fiat are making to new 500's servicing , I am looking at the new 500x and I am being advised that the service shedules are 9000 miles for 1.4 petrol and 12000 for diesel.

Talking to dealers they tell me that rather than 18000 miles that my 3 year old TA service shedule is, the same car now would be due a service every 9000 miles.

Servicing costs are already a joke at main dealers and I can't believe that a brand new car like the 500x with the same engine 1.6 multijet as the 500l needs a service at 12000, where as the 500l was due a service at 21000 miles!
Is this just a ploy to get cars into service departments?

It's interesting because I noticed that between one year of the TA and the next. I believe they are boosting their back end income to reduce their sell prices and will then perhaps shift to capped price servicing like others have done. Subaru requires servicing every six months!!! But through engines do last so I find myself torn and Don't go beyond 15,000kms and 12 months. It's about keeping it serviced so you prevent repair as a pose to repair when it breaks coating more really, and doing damage to the lifespan of the car overall.
