Hi all iv got a new to me 500 twinair turbo 11 plate with 9k a nice car all in ... It's meant to be sporty so it's got alloys and all stickers and what not .... But there's nothing sporty about the handling she handles like a shopping trolley ..... Even when going steady it's extremely light on the back end and steps out all the time .... Is anyone's like this aswell ... Iv noticed when stood looking at the car side on its a lot lower on the front than the rear ???? Help please

thank god someone else agrees with me about the handling and the front looking lower than the rear!

So it's just not mine then ? .... Thinking of lowering rear see if that helps

The 500 is pretty known for less than inspiring handling, I thought.

Very short wheelbase, surprisingly tall and badly underdamped suspension. Pretty good for its target market- pootling about town and looking good.

am thinking of lowering mine too, have you noticed how much it rolls? how squirrelly it is at speed and under breaking from spreed? the back end is far to easy to step out, I'm not sure about yours but does yours just seem like it wants to spin up and slide about everywhere and anywhere?

Yes exactly that iv had it side ways loads of times and the misses has lost it on roundabouts quite a lot as its her car .... But I'm just waiting for it to go wrong one day ..... And yes never brake while turning init it's like doing a stoppie on a bike

yeaaa I've had it sideways too quite a bit, one day it will go wrong, I'm just waiting on it? apparently the twinair plus is lowered 40mm factory to the twinair, not sure if that's true though, but as to why the front is lower than the back, I have no idea, have you noticed the highlights are awful? dipped beam is like driving with fairy lights strapped to the front of your car

All twinairs 85bhp's have the same rode height as other 85bhp twinairs, ditto for 105 bhp twinairs.

Bilstein B14's are the best option bar none

Not sure about the lights iv never really drove her in the dark and ours is the 105bhp one

ah what height would you recommend lowering it to handle better but yet not be so low I can't get over speed bumps?

I have had to fit xenons, at least now I can see the next corner that I'm going to loose the back end on lol

I could have my car pretty much scraping on the ground as the roads around here are pretty good and there are few speed bumps. It's completely up to you, don't be fooled into thinking that the lower you go the better it'll handle though.

Haha I'm going to see what lowering options iv got and will keep you posted ?

lucky you, I live in a town that's plastered in speedbumps ? yea I know that, I would only go 40 mm lower maybe to see first if it changes much

not the kit, there's no room under the bonnet for the relay/conversion kit apparently

So you just put some different bulbs in?

Anyway the limit of the B14's is 40mm, if you don't want to be hitting speedbumps you might want to not go that low.

Just remember that lower isn't always better.....

they are xenon bulbs, and yea there is quite a few high speed bumps around my town so I would need to be careful with how much I get it lowered
