Looking into cambelt service quotes myself. A mate's mx-5 1.8 was quoted £180 at a local Mazda specialist the other day. Wouldn't mind something like that for RGZ.

Yea engine out or can be done with dropping one mount.

best thing to do is not to take it to a dealer if you're looking for it done cheaper

Someone saw you coming mate! That is a ludicrous price! Had my 2.4 done by a FIAT main dealer for £370 (inc VAT) and yes, it included new tensioners.

I was just ringing round because I was curious lol never got it done in the end, sold the car instead

Indeed. Been looking for independent Fiat specialists near where I live and there's literally one or two. Shall be getting quotes in the coming weeks, service itself's not due till end of Feb.

There's a fiat/alfa specialist near me who are very good but that's a bit too far for you

I've just been quoted £453.00 all inc for cam belt & water pump change by Glyn Hopkin Romford.

all dealers go by menu pricing, that is £380 quid + water pump

thats very cheap! its a 60k service at 5 years and then belt etc on top make sure they use gen parts and do what they say they will and if they do thats unbeatable

Just got a quote direct from the Fiat dealer...£237 fitted, that's for the 1.2 of course. Waiting to hear from the independant I've heard good things about to get back to me.

Well, mine was for the full kit apparently including fitting, which I assume includes the water pump. Didn't have the normal service included of course though. Thought it wasn't too bad a price from a main dealer really.

Anyone know if the water pump replacement is required on 1.4 Stilo at time of cambelt and if so how much extra will it be. My quote was for cambelt & tensioners so assume no pump included?

its not essential but good idea to as takes bout 15mins more on most cars when belt off and if ends up leaking ya may end up req new belt when changing pump. no good dealer would remove belt and reuse it when doing waterpump,

cambelt kit is belt and tentioners BTW
