My Bravo is an 08 sport that's ready for its 4th year service. just rang a couple of places for quotes and it seems that it is cambelt change time. it's got 47k on the clock to. I can't lay my hands on the book but I thought it was 5 years 72k? mines a petrol t150.

is it really time to do the Campbelt? I've had a reasonable quote for the service and the belt change, but I hadn't budgeted it this year!

As it is in Romania, they changed the timing belt change interval to 2 years or 60k km because there were so many failures. (it was originally 4 years or 120k km)

I bought my Bravo at 120k km without it having had a cam-belt change ..

I read last night the mjet is 90k or 4 years if a lot of town driving or 5 years if lot of motorway driving.

Personally I'd do it every 4 years or 50k. Mine is going in tomorrow to be done. Slightly overdue for my liking.

60K km - OK
but 2 years ???
official fiat dealer/workshop?

2 years - that's from official Fiat dealers and from the mechanic at a Alfa/Fiat specialized garage (I repeat: here in Romania)

I will not be able to do 60k in that quick.. and i will not change it in 2 years either..

As far as i am concerned i will change the timing again in about 4 years or 60k.. that seems about right to me. as My last Fiat had the cam belt removed and refitted 3 times (the same cam belt) without any problems for 4 years.

On the T-Jet 150, is the water pump driven by the cambelt?

This is something I need to budget for on my car, it's a March 08 car on 49k and so far as I can tell it hasn't had a cambelt yet. I am going to get a quote from the local Fiat dealer for a cambelt and water pump change. Better safe than sorry I would say!
