I have a low-speed running problem in my 124 Sport, which has two 40IDFs.

I thought it might be an idle jet, but when searching I found a film called IDF Weber problem on a page called “Dirty Idle Jets? The REST of the Story.” (I’m not yet allowed to post links) on a site dedicated to Porsche Speedsters which looked at the path the mixture took through the body, which obviously means carbs off and the dining room smelling of petrol for a month.

The replies on the article also suggest that fuel flow might be inhibited by ethanol damage to the floats. This is less of a concern, the car clears its throat when the revs rise so it’s probably the idler screws.

The problem is that when I tried to work-out which pot was most affected by pulling the plug leads one by one I found that the two rear pots were equally affected. Now, the idle screws act on a single choke, so I’m wondering if there’s something I haven’t thought of.

I’d rather not unscrew anything until I have a plan.

Thanks all
