I have a 2025 fiat ducato-based motorhome with a digital dashboard. It should have tyre pressure monitors, but there was some confusion at the handover as to whether they were fitted or working. The salesperson said that the vehicle needed to be drive before the pressure registered, but after 100 mile plus no pressures are appearing on the digital dashboard. I was expecting there to be a tyre pressure against each tyre. Should there be?

The current TPMS system on the Ducato is an "indirect" system which uses the ABS sensors to detect the faster rotation of a deflating(ed) tyre.

As such, it won't show the actual pressures.

If everything is normal, it displays an outline of the vehicle (as per your picture). If there is an issue, then a dash warning will appear. (The manual is silent on what will happen to the display in this case. Some indirect systems will indicate which corner(s) have thrown the alert, some rely on you checking after the warning).

Whilst I have most of the driver assistance systems on my Ducato, TPMS is absent, so I can't advise further).

Test it out, - reset the system, then take some air out of one and drive to for a bit to let it sense (if it's n indirect system it'll need a little drive to sense it as mentioned already)

but there was some confusion at the handover as to whether they were fitted or working

Legislation forced manufacturers to install it on virtually all new vehicles to stop people driving round on poorly inflated tyres

On the Panda it needs to get down to 6psi to actuate, unless its having an Italian day, when it will light up for no reason on accoason. As an aid to low tyre pressure needing attention its worth nothing. It may, jusyt may stop you ruining a tyre by running flat. Worth having, but not even a slight benefir to safety in my view. At 6psi the car will change direction on you. If it worked at a 6 psi drop it would be much better

On my Abarth it has OK at each corner , but I think mine are in the wheels (worse type !!! cos the batteries fail eventually, it's an MOT fail when they do if you didn't know, and they are usually a sealed throwaway item) , so you have to get the tyre guy to sort, bloody annoying
