I've only had it for two weeks. Prior car was a 2023 VW ID.4.

So far I am quite happy and my husband likes it too. Only issues, which you were specifically asking after: no issues with the items you listed, but I do have a slightly loose body panel that the dealer is scheduled to fix.

I forgot to shut it off the first few times I finished a drive, but I'll get used to that if I didn't find a setting for that.

Oh wait, once complaint: I haven't figured out how to set a preferred charge %, where on the VW ID.4, you had to go out of your way to change from 80% to 100%. It might be there, but I haven't found it yet.

Please keep me posted, what do you like about the Fiat 500e, which one did you get? Do you have the phone app? or the Uconnect with Fiat for over the air updates, I think that is a monthly fee of $14.99 how is that working out? I will check the body panels when I pick mine up. thanks for any further info on the car . Brad from Georgia

Yeah, I'm using the Fiat app and most of the services are included for 3-5 years. The ones in the trial that would cost more are all features I don't care about. I found this, in case it sheds any light on it:

One thing that surprised me was that the car asked me to connect it to my home wifi for updates.

I'm enjoying the size and the UI/UX of the car overall. I got the black with red mirrors/dash, which I think is from the basic trim.

There isn't an equivalent setting to limit charge % on the 500e. At the risk of setting up an argument on competing opinions on how to best manage battery health, here goes. Some manufacturers recommend keeping charge between 20-80% and only charging to 100% occasionally when needed, others have no recommendations at all. The reasons for these variations may be differences in battery technology, sophistication of battery management systems, confidence in warranty claims or whether the battery is truly at the % displayed to the user. For example, the 500e has a 42kWh battery but only 37kWh of this is usable so there is an operating window that prevents the battery from being fully depleted (and presumably fully charged).

I typically charge my car once a week to 100% via "destination charging" on 7kW AC chargers and don't lose any sleep on whether there might be some miniscule battery degradation by doing this.

Follow-up: the minor rattle I was heading was not a loose panel, by instead was the dealer's license plate frame not tightened down. Removed that and all was well.

Still enjoying the vehicle!

You make a good case. My husband hasn't quite come to terms with it yet, but I think he'll get there. :)

The single most important thing you can do as an EV owner to keep your battery from degrading is to keep it as a low state of charge as possible. There has been a lot of research on this over the years. Recommendation is changing. The 80% is from old research.
Most important factor for battery degradation is "calendar aging", do a google search if you are interested. This basically translates to keep the car at the lowest state of charge you can if degradation is your main concern. With the exception on cold climates there really is no lower value to this. The lower the better.
For everyday purposes this means, calculate what you need, maybe 15% to get to office, 15% back and then I want a 20% buffer for errands. Then you should keep your daily max charge at 50%.
It also means that what has been written is true. For longer trips and when you need it dont be afraid to go to 100%, this is negligable if done for trips.

And most likely Fiat in this case, cares more about usability and user experience, and dont want us fiddling with this setting. Personally I would prefer to leave it up to me, hide it deep in the advanced settings if needed

It is not recommended to run the battery down close to 0% as a routine. Ideally, do not discharge below 20% unless essential.

I love frugal solutions. I was was told by an elderly mechanic driving a 10 year old 500 EV with glowing praise for her car which she plugged into a household outlet only.
I bought my Red 500e 4 months ago and it delivers what I expected and I find I get about 3 percent battery charge per hour using the charger Fiat provided on my 120v outlet. I can live with that. No issues except no one could source a steel wheel for the car so I had to have my winter tires mounted on the Fiat wheels which is a bit more expensive... I hope to remedy that in 2025. Fun to drive for local adventures only. Efficiency degradation in cold weather I estimate to be around 25 to 30 percent. I love driving and I feel my 500e is a green option at average 18 KWH/100kms. The cost of a KWH at my home is 10 cents CAD; FRUGAL!!!!

I live in Ocala FL and found a great lease deal on a 2024 red 500e in Texas, some 1100 miles away. Shipping was remarkably low at $680.

I have driven 1200 miles without any issues or problems. This is my fourth EV. I have a 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV Premier, a 2019 Fiat 500e, and a 2018 Smart Passion EQ.

The car arrived with all four tires under inflated at 24 psig. After inflating to psig on the door panel sticker, I tried resetting the tire warning light. As the light is in the lower righthand corner of the center display, I guess it was missed by the dealer. The reset procedure in the manual DID NOT work. I ended up having to drive to my nearest Fiat dealer, some 60 miles each way from my home. They did reset the light at no charge! If you get a 500e far away from home, make sure the detailers check the pressures!

The car is a dream to drive! I'm s 5-11, 220 lbs, 81 year old man! We have the Smart listed for sale. My son is keeping the 2019 500e. I'm also keeping the 2033 B EUV (4 doors and usable rear seats).
